The JSlew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Palmerston i North, reports:— | At tho opening sale of the new sale- ; yards at Boundary Road, Palmerston j IS^orth, there was a large attendance ! and a heavy entry of sheep and cattle. :/The cattle yards were taxed to their full capacity, and a really good, allround sale resulted, bidding being brisk throughout and most lines soiling freely under the hammer, with tho result that very few lin?.-: went, out unsold. We quote: —Sheep: Cull lambs 5s 2d to 5s (id, forward lambs 9s to 10s Id, forward ■sv.'ca 12s, woolly ewes 16s. Cattle: Weaners (inferior) 15s. good mixed weaners £2, weaner heifers (good) £2 Ss, yearlings (inferior) £2 to £2 7s 6d, * 15-months" steers .£2 17s, 2-year steers £4 to £4 10s, 2J- to 3-year steers £6 4s, forward bullocks £7 5s to £7 9s 6d, 15-months heifers £3 ss. forward heifers £3 19s to £4 ss. heifers in calf £4 5s to £6, springing heifers £6, aged cows 30". to £2 Vs, store cows £3 15s, fat j and forward cows £4 17s 6d to £4 18s ;6d. :.- . : .
