GOODS TRAFFIC AND DUCK CONFUSION.

Messrs James Thain and Co.;havcr received the following from their Wolverhampton agents, dated October 27: Although practically two months havo elapsed since the settlement ofthc recent railway and dock strikes, yet wo aro experiencing very great trouble.jiot only in effecting shipment of goods which went forward many weeks ago, but also in tho transit of fresh consignments to the ports of Liverpool and London, some pad-cages from this neighbourhood taking' 7 days and more to cover the 120 miles to London. In many instances goods are reported "lost" or "not to. be ■traced,"-and tho present state of affairs is bound to cause considerable annoyance toy our oversea friends. All vessels are- sailing with very full cargoes, and we-arocx.-peviencing "shut but" in nearly every shipment, in many instances only one or two cases getting on board instead of a largo full shipment. It will bo some little time oetore the present disorganisation and congestion of traffic is relieved; and the'usual systematic and normal conditions resumed, but we aro, exerting ourselves to tho utmost in,.tho, interests of our clients, and we ask for their patience during this period of unprecedented, worry for British, shipping merchants. - ■/:-.-■
