AX INTERESTING CASE. The validity of the Gillies air admission patents has recently been demonstrated in the Supreme Court in Dunedin by his Honor Sir Joshua Strange Williams granting an injunction against Alexander Smaill Jnr., preventing him from using tho Gillies Patent on tho Smaill milking machine. The following is an extract of the finding of tho court: — "This Court doth adjudge and order that an injunction be awarded restraining tho defendants and each and every of them their and each of their respective servants agents and workmen du'rj ing the continuance of the letters patent granted to the plaintiff and any extension of the term thereof from using or exercising or causing or permitI ting to be used and exercised the in--1 vention described in tho specification i and drawings filed with the said letters patent and from manufacturing selling • letting for hire disposing or making ' any profitablo use or promoting or be* ing engaged or interested in the manufacture sale letting for hire disposal or profitablo use of any pneumatic milking apparatus not made by the plainj tiff or his licensees and having applied j thereto tho principle of air admission in tho said specification or so constructed ) AS TO ALLOW OF AIR ADMISSION ) FOR THE PURPOSES OF FACILIi TATING THE TRAVEL OF THE MILK FROM THE COW TO THE RECEIVER or differing from such prieiij matic milking apparatus only colorably I and by the substitution of more mechanij cal equivalents or from in any manner j infringing the rights and privileges i granted to the plaintiff by the said let- | tors patent.
