PETITION TO BE HEARD
fPer Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 14. A member of the A.S.R.S. informed a reporter this^ afternoon that a telegram had been received from Messrs Davey M.P., Witty M.P., and Tsitt M.P.. that the Government .had changed its mind regardnig~the hearing of the; petition .of the Second Division of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. The telegram stated that the petition would be heard some time next week. . The news was received with general satisfaction ty*;the men whose, meeting of protest to-morrow promised to be of a> sensational character. No further action will now be. taken until" .the result of the hearing of the petition is made known.
