CONSIDERABLY IMPROVED
,' The ■ improvement in Paparoa coal during' tho last few months was mentioned at the annual meeting of the Papavoa'Coal 'Mining Co., Ltd., on Friday. The coal has considerably hardened, which points to the! fact that the workings ai*e now ■ getting "away from, the influence -of. faults met with some timo ago.". " Tim improvement in the.'cqal should, facilitate sales," said the chairman; (Mr H. F. Nees), "but' at this stage it is advisable to point out that the company, owing to the absence or storage hulks, is experiencing very great difficulty in getting a share,of,.the oversea bunkering-trade, which is a highly payable olass of business During' the year the Admiralty renewed its, contract for supplies of Paparoa coal to vessels of tho Australasian* squadron. The Gear Company also renewed its cotatract for a further period of twelve months." '' ,
