' The Hon.; Beeby informed a deputation of ladies that a domestic . science college would \>e established in a few months. One member of the deputation urged that if. the college onljr succeeded in turning out a few good cooks, it would do -something, for at the root of all domestic troubles and divorce proceedings the word "indigestion" was >written. . The Hon. Beeby said the object of the College was to train teachers, who would impart their knowledge to childien in every important school. He did not think an attempt to establish a college to train domestic servants would succeed at present. He looked forward to the time when a domestic ■would do eight Hours' iwork and then Teave. If anybody wanted the" luxury of another eight hours' work <they v/oulfi have to get a second shift of girls. .
