The Imperial Temperance Conference hzs opened, those present including delegates from Victoria, South Australia, and New Zealand. Mr KirkpatricTc gave interesting details of the growth of temperance- among Australian Labour members, the majority of whom weio teetotallers.
Ihe conference discussed Dr Chappel's paper on the effect of total obstinence on mental efficiency.
