I District Nursing League collection to-day. ! Railway arrangements for the Pal- ' merston N, Dairy Show and Corona- : tion Day are advertised in another I column. ! The latest addition to the telephone j exchange is No. 632, Mr. A. Burton, timber merchant, London Street, Wa- : nganui East. J All "Englishmen resident in Wanga- | nui and district are invited to attend the gathering which is' to bo held at Dustin's Rooms on Tuesday next, at 8 p.m. hi connection with the local Coronation ceremonies, the Aramoho school-children will present a tableau—most probably representing the Dominions of the Empire. The Moss town children will attend in full force, "and we hear mat the suburban, schools will also take part. Last evening tjife Baptist Band ot Hope met in the schoolroom, when the best attendance since the commencement was recorded. It was decided to hold a social about July 13th, also that no meeting be held on Friday next. A most interesting programme was gone through, which included an interesting address by the Rev. A. S. Wilson. This afternoon the Wanganui East Beautifying Society will be very busy planting upwards of 500 trees on No. 2 so jtion above the Rustic Bridge. Tho ground has been ploughed and well harrowed. It is hoped that a veTy^" large attendance of.helpers will be on the spot to help with the good \rork. There arc many who would find the afternoon, a very happy one if they would just try it. Why not? and soassist a good work.
