DUNEDIN, April 12. .A.-fire occurred in the New. Zealand Paper Mills Co.'s premises at Woodiiaufth this evening, resulting in the total destruction of the building, plant and stork. The fire had a strong hold when discovered, and the employees had to rush from the building. The oii.iin of Che fire is unknown. The building covers about half an acre and the plant was modern and efficient. The building was valued at £6000, and the plant^at from, £1.2,000 to £13,000. On the premises there was manufactured sto-k vauied at £300[>. raw material £2000. and stock, chemicals and dyes £1100. - The insurance on the building and .stock was £12,500, distributed over the Standard. National, Commercial Union "Royal Alliance, South British and London and Lancashire Offices. Over 30 hands will be thrown idle.
