At the district Methodist Synod it was decided that a resolution of last conference placing grants for Maori .Missions on the same footing as the European department ~. should be rescinded ; that no increase in tho cost of Maori work should be made without the expressed sanction' of the conference; ihat all grants to circuits and home' ■ mission stations •be made j with a vie\v to ' enabling them !to pay their - missionaries (if married) not less than £120 in addition" to a furnished house and (if single) rot less than £100, and circuits to pay their ministers not less than £180 and probationers £120. Satisfaction was expressed at the ■report, of the-Committee of the New Zealand "Methodist Times." The new venture in journalism has proved suceMrefu 1. The Rev. R. L.
