Another good house witnessed the programme of animated piotures screened by Hayward's Pictur.es at the Lyceum last night, and all present were delighted at the excellent series of films presented. This evening, iv addition to last night's programme, thj management will screen twK_extra films, which are said to excel anything ever presented in Wanganni. The great Mekong Regatta, one of the finest aquatic pictures yet taken for too biograph, depicts the natives in the great war canoes racing on the Mekong River. The Press all over tha Dominion have been unanimous in their, praise of this picture, and as it Ban be screened in Wanganui for two nights bhlv, the management request al) picture-lovers to make a special effort to see this great picture. Speaking of this picture, the "Kinematograph Weekly" saysr Which of us has ever been on the Mekong in India? Pathe Freres take us there and allow us to admire a magnificent exhibition bl, hitman power and beauty—a regatta of the natives on the Mekong. , How simple looks a modern motor-boat or sail-ing-boat (regatta. What remarkable skill on tb-9 part of craftsman .and sportsman work is shown by these long, narrow boats upon which two. rows of standing men drive the vessel through the _ water like a fuvievs sea monster. It is an impression never to be forgotten." To-morrow afternoon a matinee programme will be. presented when the above picture will also be screened. On the show nights the management have arranged to give performances at the 'Lyceum and ajso at the „ Opera" House, when two special programmes will be presented at both houses of amusement.
