WANGANUI AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

The secretary and his staff had another busy day yesterday receiving late entries for the show, some of them coming from the extreme end of either island, showing that the fame of the Wan gun vi sKow has reached' all parts of the Dominion. The entries in all classes are well up to last year, especially so in the dog section. Thanks to the untirinff efforts of Grand Mirrshal Sinclair aiid Chief Stewart Bond, who have kepb in touch with all the fancy both north and south, and assisted by their splendid lot of special prizes, they have attracted sill the show dogs of. the Dominion. Every mail brings fresh applications for space for side shows, so that there should bo no dearth of amusement for the kiddies, fi om the old familiar Aunt Sally to the weird snake-charmers, "the performing monkeys; and the joyous and exhilarating ocean wave. Patrons of the lawn will see most finished displays of jamping, as some of the crack jumpers will try conclusions in the Hunters' Competition on the first day, and in the Steeplechase Jumping on the second day. Proceedings will be enlivened by the dulcet strains of the champion band of Australasia, to hear them alone should be sufficient inducement for people to come, from the Three KiiiiYs or the Bhiff. Holiday excursion tickets will _be issued from Ohakune. Palmerston North, and Hawera, but tho committee are making further efforts to get these concession extended. The Railway (Department have always acted very niegardly with the Wangat nui Agricultural Association in respect to excursion fares, and it is to be hoped that the G.M. will be a little bit more indulgent this year. The -WSmen's Christian Temperance Union have abandoned the jdea of havinsr a rest tent, on account of the difficulty in setting ft tent. This is rather a pity, for the idea is a very good one, and should have proved very acceptable to many a tired mother. We trust the union may yet adhere to their original intention. Exhibitors who have neglected to send.in their entries may yet have an opportunity of doing co, as the secretary has decided to receive late entries up to Saturday.
