At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, a sailor named Victor Richardson, till recently on the Indraghiri, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment for making a false declaration that he was entitled to ship uncktr section 520f the Shipping and Seamen's Act. rhe Superintendent of Marine said there had been a good deal of false swearing going on for some time in Wellington in connection \vith_ seamen requiring permits to.
