Tiord Lytbon states that the British section was destroyed in five minutes. Tho British pictures and old plate were in a separate building, and escaped. The loss is confined to a loan collection <f furniture, tapestries, and china, and has bean greatly exaggerated. It wvl ha covered by the insurance of £2,500
