Guth rie,- M.P. MINUTES.—The minutes of the pre vious meeting were read and confirmed ACCOUNTS to the value of £575 18* 9d were passed for payment. RESIGNATIONS.—The fbillowing re signations were received: E. Lamberg (Tauangatutu), and S. Crothers (Fox" ton).

APPOINTMENTS.—The Ifollowing were agreed to: Miss E. Beer (Moutoa), J. B. McKenzie (Rongotea), J. Brown ing (Makowhai). Several teachers wrote declining offers of transfers. LEAVE OF ABSENCE.—Leave of absence was granted to M. J. Brycc (10th to ,31st),; M. C. "Walton (one month); A. Palmer (one month); E. E. Aitken (two months); A. A. An dreVrs itivo days); L. Jenks (for exam), J/N.-Gibbons (4 days), Miss Smith (f weeks).

ELTHAM.—Mr Jackson was appoint ed special assistant.

WAITUNA WEST.—Tender for resi deuce declined.

KAREWAREWA.—Mr Guthrie's re port was adopted, a copy to be sent to the Committee.

WAITUNA WEST.—Mr Guthrie's re porfc was adopted.

SEDGEBROOK.—Mr Spnrdle recommended certain alterations and additions.—Adopted.

CROFTON.—Mr Purnell's arrange-ment-re outhouse ivas agreed to. MARTON.—Mr Pnrnell's proposal re additional water supply was adopted. CARPENTER.—The Board's carpen.ter's report on the works done and the works in progress was read and adopted. It was agreed to spend £7 10s on the gallery at Ohingaiti.

TAIHAPE.—The Department advised that a gran* of £650 for additions to the Taihape L'.H.S. had been made. —Tenders are to be invited for tho worlc. RIVERTON.— The Department impressed on the Board that the Board had already received the full amount due. ENSFGNS.—In reply to correspondence from the Department, the Board replied that it did not recognise any liability., When any flags were supplied it was when other flags were worn out

A7.F. BAYLY SCHOLARSHIP—The Tarariaki Rugby Union forwarded conditions of the proposed scholarship. ELTHAM—Mr Gnthrie reported having interviewed the Minister regard ing residence and the grant had beer increased to £200.

BALANCE-SHEET—The Audit Department returned the balance-sheet, with two "tags." • UPPER TTJTAENUI—The Board was advised by the committee to secure an addition to the school playground. Mr Guthi-i© was asked to negotiate with the Public Trustee.

• CLOSED SCHOOLS.-—Mr F. C. Campbell. Rangiwahia. advised the Board that owing to the prevalence of whooping cough, the school was cldsed. Taiharje advi?ed that the secondary de partmeni was closed for the same reason, and Rawhitiroa School was. clo&ec' on account of chickenpox. | POSTPONEMENT.- Postponement of holidays far various reasons was .si-anted to F C. OHAKGE OF NAME.—The Board was advised that Waitangi had been chnneed to Tangiwai. PERMlSSlON.—Permission.-to Mr.' Thompson, Man.gaonoho, to take he; boy from school waft granted,. CAMPBELL STREET—Mr Bennett was asked to furnish a further report on tha skylight. Dual desks are to be supplied.' ' ,

CLYDESDALE.—The committee was asked to replace the furniture.

LONG BURN.—Mr Bennett was asked to report on question of supplying dual desks,"

GO NVtLhE.— Extra- desks are to be supplied.

FEILDING D.H.S. -The Board replied, to the committee that the attendance did not'warrant an.addition.

RAWHITJRpA.—The Board has no funds for subsidising school libraries.

WANGANITI D.H.S.—The committee reported on necessary repairs to roof. Resolved that the work be done.

OTAKEHO.-The Board decided to erect i»ates required.

KAI JVC.—A grant was made for 'removal of outbuildings. ASHHURST.—Mr Croft was asked to report on shed, and the commit! r-^ was asked as to amount they would contribute, the Board agreeing to contribute £ for £. .

GLEN OROUA—The committee-ask ed for a grant for considerable improvements. Mr Fraser was asked to report.

RAWER A.—A grant for £8 was nuide for fencing.

RAETTHI.—The committee was informed that the Board was willing to subsidise, but could not pay for all the firninnsrp.

AH A R ATA- -The committee advised that they proposed forming a working bee, and hoped the Board would look upon the work done ns money spent. The committee was asked for an «stimatfi of the cost of the work; the Boarc 1 would then consider the question of subsidy. .TJTTKU.—£ for £ was-granted for nayment. ORTNGIMEA—The Board decided that it could not supply accommodation for six children. TRUANT OFFICERS.—The following wero appointed: Mr M-erson (Oliakune). Police Officer (Kimbolton). ARAMOHO—Mr C. L. Bridges, or behalf of the Aramoho Committee, wait ed on the Board and asked for funds The- committee had found firing a very, expensive item, for wood only c.->uid b;> burned, and they considered timt gas heaters wo<ild be most economical. An estimate had -accordingly boon prepared, and the installation would cost. CS 10s, which the.
