LYCEUM THEATRE
In spite of the discouraging weather Lift night there was a good house at the nlbve theatre. The _ .programme submitted wa* on exceptionally .wnnd one, and two of the dramatics, entitled resn-ecHvolv "The- President's SneciaV nnd "The' Love- <:f Lady Trena"' —one by tl'p Anipvican I>io«rnpli Co. nnd one by tho Edi-son .Co.—were the be.=t of this cln.ss sho.wiv here for a long time.
The otlvev- dramatic pictures weie also very good. The scenic pictures
were most instructive, and were eagerly followed in every detail. The scenes or. the Island of Marken were very quaint, showing Dutch personalities and doings, and the "Pineapple Industry," a coloured film, slowed in beautiful colours the interesting details of this industry. The comics were excessively funny, and evoked roars of laughter. ''The Waiter's Dream," a clever trick riim. and " Poor" Pa ' Pays Again" were the nfost popular. The music supplied by Madame McNichol ami Mr Ralph O'rLua was most appropriate to tne pictures, fmd added greatly to tlie success of the programme. The same set of films will i>e .shown to-night and to-morrow night, and we can recommend them to all our readers. J
