At the last conference of the Agricultural and Pastoral Associations of New Zealand a remit from Otago was adopted that all exhibits consigned to shows should, .without any certificates, be carried f;c quarter rates, and that all such exhibits or part thereof, if returned to the origin&l sending station witliia a certain time, be also charged quarter rate; returning stock to be i:onsmm:l by the association at whoso show the stock was exhibited,. who would be responsible to the Railway n<;j>si.rtment. The matter was '.mm^ht under the notice of the Minister of Railways, and a m-iixa;ro has been received by Mr A. Chamberlain, president of the Cantivbuiv A. and P. Association, from ?.*r It. Heaton Rhodes, M.P., to the olfecr. that the Minister regretted he could not see his way to give effect to the recommendation of the conf'3'njnce regarding the carriage of show exhibits.
