ARAMOHO TENNIS CLUB.
The annual general meeting of the Aramoho Lawn Tennis Club was held on Monday evening in the A.B.C. Hall. Mr Cyril Goldsbury occupied the chair. The secretary's report and balance sheet wero read and adopted. The report stated that matches had been played against Oroua, and twice againsb Queen's Park 11., and Gonville and liastbrook. rlhe club had been successful in winning against Eastbrook on both occasions, and against Gonville on one, but had suffered defeat twice by Queen's Park 11., and once by Oroua aid Gonville. It is hoped that matches will again be arranged with these clubs, as interclub matches tend to raise the standard of play, to increase the keenness of members and to foster a good social feeling Special reference was mado to the generous and consistent manner in which the ladies had dispensed afternoon tea throughout) the season. To these ladies the club tendered its sincere thanks. It was decided to place on record the club's appreciation of the long and faithful services generously rendered to the club by Messrs Marshall and Reid, who had been appointed club capbain and treasurer respectively at the previous annual meeting, but who had resigned during the year. The balance sheet disclosed a very satisfactory state of affairs, the total indebtedness of the clu<3 amounting to only £15, while the assets in matenial, etc., were at a low estimate, valued at the same figure. With careful management it is confidently expected that before the end of the coming year the liability will be completely wiped out. The election of officers resulted as follows .-—President, Mr E. D. Reid; vicepresidents, Mesdames Gilbert and Marsh, Messrs C. E. Mackay, J. T. Hogan, G. R. Simpson, McLellan and B. Yeates; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr Norman Webley; lion, auditor, Mr F. Lane; general committee, Misses Allomes, Barkman, E. Gilbert, Soler and Marsh, and Messrs O. Goldsbury, Lane, Morrin, Rasmussen and Scrivener. Annual Subscription.—lt was decided to raise the subscription to 10s 6d for ladies and youths, and 25s for gentlemen.
Opening Date. That the season be opened on the 9th October, and that the president, Mr E. D. Reid, be asked to kindly ofneiafte.
It is hoped to arrange a match against Oroua for the 9th November.
It was decided to hold a dance about the end of the present month. A committee to arrange the same was appointed, consisting of Mesdames Gilbert and Marsh, Misses Allomes, Barkman, Marsh and Soler, and Messrs Goldsbury, Sheriff, Marshall and Webley.
The following were accorded votes of thanks :—The out-going committee for tho obliging and efficient manner in which they had carried out their duties,. Mrs Gilbert and Miss Soler for tho use of rooms for committee meetings and the secretary for his report and balance sheet.
A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the business of the evening.
