SERIOUS BURNING ACCIDENT,
THREE PERSONS BURNT.
ELTHAM, July 3
A serious burning accident occurred this morning on a farm between Eltham and Mangatakoki. Same clothes were drying before the fire in a house occupied by a share dairy farmer named Bills. By some means Mrs Bills' clothes caught fire, and also those of her two daughters, ag?d 4 and 11, who went to thei rmotber's assistance-. The house also canght fire, but the children escaped outside, and the mother was dragged out by a son who came on the scene and was followed by the husband and others who were some distance away. The mothor had tho whole of her clothing burned on her body, and is fearfully burned, and tho girls are also badly burned, and their hair is destroyed, btit the injuries are not so serious as their mother's. They were brought into a private hospital in Eltham. Tho house and contents, including some money, were totally destroyed. The family only possess the clothes they wore wearing.
