Tli3 third test' match was continued at Leeds to-day. , The weather was lovely and the wicket good. The Englishmen, who had lost two wickets the previous afternoon for 80, went on with their second innings.

Sharp and Tyldesley, the not out men, went to the wickets. Sharp batted powerfully, and knocked up 50 out of the first 91 runs. He hit three fourers in su'.cession off Armstrong.

Tyldesley.showed a masterly defence. It took hint'l3s minutes to reach half a century. At 135 MacArtney came on in place of Armstrong, and he altered the phase of the game. Tyldesley was taken nicely off him in the slips by a right-handed catch . He played a chanceless innings.

Three for 137

Immediately after Sharp was stumped off the same bowler after being two hours at the wickets . His innings was marked by clean hitting.

Four for 146. MacLaren played forward to the Sydneyite and retired.

Five for 157

Hhodes and Hirst were together, but MacArtney, who had found the spot and was bowling admirably, disposed of the latter easily. He got four wickets for 20 runs.
