UNAUTHORISED EXPENDITURE

MELBOURNE, July 1

Tho report of the Committee on Public Accounts, with regard to the illegal expenditure of public monies without sanction of Parliament, has been presented to the House.

The Committee found that Sir Thos Bent, in giving certain instructions, acted unconstitutionally and illegally. £175,000 was so expended.
