Just as the crowds who were out to' see the demonstration in connection: with the closing of the hotels v vn'orej wending their way home at half-past' eleven, an alarm of fire, was soundc<l.; Investigation showed.the fire td be. in. tiio building at the-roar of the Prince; of Wales Hotel. It appears that ;a? dan«e was being held by. the vfemp^oyeQp of the hotel as a wind-up <?f>,ihe license,, and some boys who hljfd been; raneiitedly refused ■admission, are alleged to, have, thrown phosphorous into' -th*i ; room through an open window on to some clothes, which caught alight. In eti-» deavouring to -throw the. phosphorous, outside, three" men were badly burned about the head and face and had to, obtain medical assistance. The fire was! put out before muph damage was done/
