THE CHURCH ROBBERY.

PALMERSTON N., June 30. On the arrival of the Wairarapa .train this afternoon, Detective Quirke arrested Michael Brennan, alleged to be an old offender, on- suspicion of being connected with the robbery from All Saints' Vicarage, Wellington, on Tuesday. Brennan had a through ticket to Auckland, and was evidently intending to go on by the Main Trunk express. He had £13 in cash upon him and .three gold rings, two gold pencils, four brooches, four pairs of gold sleeve links, and various other gold articles, alleged to be identical with the articles missed by the Rev. Mr Johnson.
