BY FRANK MORTON.
Amid all sorts of rumours of Arctic weather in Dunedin, deluges in Sydney, and disagreeable conditions in a hundred other places, tho weather in Wellington continues unusually pleasant for the time of year. We have had some rain during the last few days, and one or two of the nights have been cold enough; but on the who!e it can be paid that there has bren no winter in Wellington yet. O'd hands ha,ve told us that we should have- plenty of cold and wet in June, but June is nearly over and gone. We- are bidden now to wait for July and August. Waiting for winter this year seems an uncertain business, like waiting for the opening cf Parliament. Most of us don't car© if winter doesn't come at all, and somr> of us wouldn't grieve overmuch if Parliament never mot.
