WELLINGTON, June 18. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' general weather forecast:—Weather probably improving soon on the western coast and in Southland,, where it has lately been particularly cold and stormy. Moderate to strong southerly winds prevailing everywhere, with a steadily rising barometer. Another orea of low pressure due about the 2nd, and unsettled -weather expected before and after that date over the South Island and southern parts of the North Island. ■■■ -..,•■.
DUNEDIN, June 18. Mr Wragge says the entire Dominion is now under the influence of the great Antarctic disturbance " Ngata." Nasty blows from between east and south will be experienced, particularly south of Taranaki, with local rain and snow to sleet in theV'niore southern parts A wave flL.iuie^w.e.aiher. foliows,; and thereafter will come the disturbance "Taylor,"' that 5 lias already caused damage in Australia. The conditions still remain very suspicious over the Tasman Sea. .......
SNOW IN OTAGO
DUNEDIN, June 18. The weather was cold and stormy today, rain and snow falling in the forenoon. The hills surrounding the city are coated with snow.1 Falls of snow are also reported from Central Otago.
