The " Standard," from an authorita--tive source, quotes a letter, dated 11th May, 1906, informing the Admiralty of tlio fact that enormous expenditure was in progress at Krupp's works for the purpose of manufacturing large naval guns and mountings quickly. ; It adds that these extensions will give the possibility of an. output far in excess of the whole capacity of'^Great Britain.
The scheme must -either be for the immense future requirements of Germany or Krupps mean the whole armament for the trade of the world outside the few great Powers who build for. ""th'imselves. ■, .
