WHERE IS GILMORE STREET?
To the Editor
Sir, —I hear talk of a meeting *oir Monday evening next for burgesses to vote on the matter of closing this street and part of Guy ton Street. Some say it is a short and. direct thoroughfare from Tanpo Quay to Carlton and Gonville, and that it should be opened up for public convenience arid improvement of borough property.^ I have also heard that it is a valuable railway .frontage. Rumour also, has it that it is to be sold or leased with 20 "adjoining sections in one lot,to a local firm. If on Monday evening next a vote is to be taken": 'thereon; a*nd the matter . definitely settled, is it not time that the burgesses . ; had more information 'on the subject? Can you, Mr Editor,"throw any: light on this'matter, and who can vote?—l am, etc.," -- ? . . > ,A .RATEPAYER.
