CASTLECLIFF TOWN BOARD.
The usual' monthly meeting of the above board was held at the (Jastlecliff Public Hall last evening, there being present Commissioners C. M. Crecswe'l (chairman), E. G. McDougall, T. L. Collins, G. Marsden, T. Glen, J. SWi.u. and W. Scott, sen. MINUTES. —The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirme»l. .PLAN OF DISTRICT.—The Cuairman reported having given instructions to Mr T. Dix to prepare a plaa of the district, and it was resolved that, a special meeting of the Board be eniieil as soon as tlie plan is available for the purpose of going over all the romls in the district.
DOG TAX.—Mr W. F. Jones V:.s appointed ranger and Jo? tax cu!lei-t->r. The fee' for registration of dogs was fixed at 2s 6d for sheep and cattle dogs up to three and 7s 6d for all other dogs. PAYMENTS.— The chairman an-1 clerk were authorised to sign cheques on behalf of the Board, also to affix the Board's seal to documents.
RESERVES.—ResoIved that the clerk write to Mr J. T. Hogan, M.P., in respect of the Board acquiring tlie right to use the Crown reserves. BY-LAAVS.—Resolved that the master ,of by-laws be referred to a committee of the whole Bbard for consideration.
OVERDRAFT.—The Board is to endeavour to obtain an overrtvift up to £200. '

The Works Committee repo%ted as follows:—Tender of J. Barnes was accepted for 100 yards of metal on nmm road; a man was engaged to do the spreading, the work having been started last Friday. The Finance Committee reported with reference to, the adjustment of liabilities between the Waitotara CountY Council and the Board, and recorimen.iecl that the Castlecliff road loan (£612 ,16s) be taken over, with any ra'es.tbat may at the time be in the hairh of the Council, provided that the '>itter free the Board frqm;any liability in re- N gard to the Aramoho protective works^ loan of JBIO2I, the county to collect and retain the rates on the portion remaining in the county.
