While the barque Canterbury, from Etensquall, a port on the Peruvian coast, was discharging her ballast, it was discovered that it contained human skulls, and many leg.and other bones; The captain states that he had great difficulty in" obtaining ballast. . He noticed that -it contained bones, but thought they were animal until dis-chargecT.-It is supposed the ballast was taken from a site of an ancient Peruvian town. . .
