LONDON, June 13
The Hon. John Burns, members of the Army Council, and the foreign oflS cers competing at Olympia, accompanied tlie delegates to Aldershot. . Stationed on a spur at Longmoor Hill, they watched 7000 men, undor'Major-General Grierson, defend Tunnel Hill,, against 10,000 men under General Steplieiison: An artillery duel, infantry rushes, cavalry charges, and fighting in rifle pits were included in the display^ *
Four hundred lunched in the marqiiee on Empgror's Hill. There were no speeches.
Captain Smith-Dorrien afterwards paraded" a brigade of artillery at war strength witli the view of emphasising the necessity of large reserves of horses. A 'special force, representing all the branches of the service., marched past.
The delegates inspected the camp, and subsequently were entertained at the Officers' Club. .
