Bates' general weather forecast:—An anticyclone, with very humid and unstable conditions, prevails; but an extensive area of low pressure of considerable intensity now threatens the North Island especially, and a westerly area of low pressure is also due.in the South by Sunday. Very unsettled weather, with rain and strong winds, are probable generally. Expect easterly winds, strong to gale, soon to. the North of East Cape and New Plymouth, arid strong southeasterly, changing by east to north, elsewhere. . .
