LONDON WOOL SALES.
FURTHER IMPROVEMENT. ••(United' Press Association—Copyright., LONDON-, May 9. Wool is keen of competition. Americans and Germans are good buyers. Best merinos' are now 10 per cent, higher, and fine to medium crossbreds are 10 to. 15 per cent .higher. Following were the average prices realised for the fleece portions of the /•clips named:—Te Koa 12$ d, Ngakonui ■ 13 l-Bd, Whataroa Bd, Kaingaroa lid, Puketoi 13 l-Bd. ■ The wool catalogue to date,is 46,420 TDales, of which 45,128 bales have been ssold. . _~,'. ■"'■■ The New/ Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Limited; are to-day in receipt of the following cablegram rela-:-tive to the wool sales now in progress in London: — ' " As ' compared with closing rates of "Jast sale held in March, prices are now .about 10 per cent, higher for greasy . merino super, 5 per cent, to 1\ per cent, .higher for merino scoured and greasy merino medium, and about the same for .^faulty wool. The sales are gaining firm- ■ aiess as they progress." ■
