NAPIER, May 11. Arthur Frake, who pleaded guilty to stealing a- cheque and forging an endorsement ; for same, was committed to tho Wellington Supreme Court for sentence. .
AUCKLAND, May 10. Frederick Bradley and Ernest James McCartney were" charged at the Police Court with breaking and entering, the shop of William Waller,' of Taumarunui, and stealing watches, brooches, etc.,-'valued at £100..' James King was charged with having received the jewellery, knowing that it waa "stolen, and William. Tacton was charged with receiving the watches, etc., valued at £10, knowing- that they were dishonestly obtained. Accused were remanded for a week, Tatton being admitted to bail jn one surety of £100, and two of £50 each. Tho Tramway Company's Epsom depot was burgla' iously entered about one o'clock on Sunday morning, £95 in silver coin being stolen.
WELLINGTON, May 10. Mr Riddell. S.M., was to give judgment this, morning in prosecutions for selling "Truth," but the point was raised, based on a recent English case, that the information should state specifically whether the publication in question was alleged to be indecent, obscene, or immoral. The Crown intimated that in the present case they would place "indecency" as the main indictment.
A re-heaiing was fixed for the 19th irist.
NELSON, May 10. A youth, aged 14£ years, named Dennis Richard Dane was remanded till Saturday, charged with outraging a child aged 6£ years in a paddock at Stoke.« The girl is too" ill to appear for some days.
