GAS —Cr McCaul stated that no agreement had yet been come to with the Wanganui Borough Council. Tho local Council was^not legally bound to carry out the contract, but he took- it that there was a moral obligation. BALANCE.—The loan account showed a credit of £1336 14s Bd, and tho general account a debit of £292 6s 6d.

ACCOUNTS—Accounts amounting to £639 Is 2d were passed for payment. These included both loan and general accounts

WATER —The Works Committee was instructed to go into the'matter of water charges as early as possible. The following were the principal items in the foreman's report:-^-- ■■-. .'■•■' Metalling Contracts.--Mr JY Hcgg has delivered 1247 cubic yards of metal. The contract for metalling Mabouey, Lnndon v Wilkie, and Lenehan Streets has been completed. The amount of metal put on was 475 cubic yards and Iho price 3s 2d per yard. Fifteen .chains . have been metalled, on No. 3 . Line and 94 chains -on the River Bank .ttoad, leaving 203 chains on r No. 3 Line snd about 200 chains on the River Bank Road still to be metalled. The .metal delivered was of very good quality. ■■• • • ■• .•■."■... Kaimatira Contract.—Mr Gordcn has made a start delivering metal and mak»Pg good progress. Borough foreman";, and r'That the foreman be instructed to furnish the Clerk with a statement showing (1) the names and addresses of c.ccupiers having gorge growing along the front of fheir properties; (2) the numbers of their sections; (3) the name of tho road or street where such occupier* properties are situated.
