A NELSON STATEMENT AND A FLAT CONTRADICTION.
■ The following telegram,; a copy of which Was handed to us yesterday afternoon, was . published in last, night's "Herald"}:— j.. - : "Secretary Saturday Association, Wanganui. "Practically whole centre of city favour Saturday; many converted to Saturday after twelve months' trial;. must win; reply progress.. —Secretary Satur- : day Association." ; ■ After reading the- above, Mr Lloyd Jones telegraphed to the secretary of the Wednesday Association, Nelson, and received the following reply:— "Jones, Wanganui. "Statement entirely untrue; have heard of no converts except to Wed- • nesday; our canvass proves Wednesday victory certain; hope for two to one majority; good luck. "McKee-Wright."
