NATURAL EPILOGUE TO FAILURE

"The Times" has received a Vienna confirmation of the Sultan's abdication in favour of Reshad being generally expected as a natural epilogue to the failure of Tuesday's coup against the Committee, who were not expected to allow Abdul Hamid a further opportunity of undermining their position. There now appears an element of bitterness in the minds of the Committee which was absent in July.
Many officers at the gates of Constantinople will 'be eager to avenge the blood of their murdered comrades.
