N.Z. REFEREES' ASSOCIATION

A meeting of the New Zealand Referees' Association was held at Wellington on Friday evening. .

Correspondence was received from various associations forwarding names of local delegates who will attend the annual conference of New Zealand referees, which will be held at New Plymouth at Easter.

The following rulings were agreed on in reply to a letter from the Wellington Referees' Association : —

" If a player in possession of the ball, and standing in the field of play, deliberately reaches out his hand and touches the corner flag, the ball shall be considered as carried back."

" The original formation of a scrummage ceases to exist when there are not at least two opponents facing each ether."
