WESTPORT, March 4. Tho Millerton mine is now completely sealed up, and" a four-inch water pipa is running in. No unoke is issuing, and it is thought the fire is now under control, and with an extra supply of water could soon be put out and work resum<d in.^ide a month. WESTPORT,. March 4.

Air compressors were put into oporafion ;this morning to drive steam into the mine and it is stated that no smoke has boon noticed to emerge, leading to tho belief that the fire lias boen .extinguished.. , Some ■30 ■ men. are; still at Millerton, but many.are leaving to-day, as they consider it 'will be at least six weeks before mining is. resumed even if tho. fire is out.
