DETAILS OF INSURANCES.

TAIHAPE, March S. No further buildings were destroyed, but several premises on the opposite side were scorched and the windows broken. The stock was slightly damaged by water but all were small amounts. But for the absolutely calm night the whole town might have been destroyed. A large quantity of goods was salvaged, but the loss over- the insurances is very heavy. There was never any danger to the buildings on the opposite side oi the street The total damage la estimated at about £25,000. ♦.
The corrected insurances are:— Whaler Bros., £250 in the; Australian Alliance: McPherson, £250 in the Sim; Nichol, £300 in the British; Punier, £200 in the Commercial union; Wmtcomb, £150 in the Commercial Union; Finch. £100 in the Sun, and personal effects £50 in the New Zealand; Hodgson £300 in the Norwich Union; Alaridge, £50 in the Sun; Jones, £250 in the Sun: Miss Fraser's tea rooms, £40 in the New Zealand; Wang You, £200 in the Sun; Ellis and Darvill, unknown, probably Alliance' and Queensland, but tho stock was valued at £10,000; Labour Department, uninsured as tar as can be ascertained; W. R. Emerson (solicitor), £50 in the Ne\y Zealand. ■Insurance* on the buildings are:— Ellis and Darvell, in the Alliance for £860; Mrs-.J-.-D. Barsby (on Whalers, Nichol's; -and McPherson), in the Sun; on Wang Y6u's, £100;, W.. P. Garner £100 in the Commercial...union ; E. Jones, £.100; an the Sun; E. Hedges (on Finch's), £600 in the New Zoaknd; F. H.. Gibbons (on Garner's), £100 in tha Commercial Union.
