WANGANUI LIEDERTAFEL CONCERT.

This evening at the Opera House will bo held the thirty-first concert-of-the Liedertafel. The programme 'appears in another ■column,-and it will be. seen that it is a particularly attractive one both as regards the chorus work and the soloists engaged; With regard to the soloists it should bo mentioned that both singers come from Wellington;. where each enjoys a musical -reputation of the highest '■• nature. Miss Caldow has for the past two or three years undertaken most of the important engagements in that city and is also well known in Dunedin, and many other provincial towns as one of New Zealand's most promising singers. It is her intention next year to complete her musical studies in England and a brilliant future has been predicted for her by some of the best artists that have visited the Dominion. Her appearance this evening will doubtless cause the keenest interest and enthusiasm. Mr Ballance has established himself as one of Wellington's best tenors, his record during the past few years in choral and solo work justly entitling him to that position. Intending patrons may thereforo anticipate a rich musical treat, and judging by the heavy booking a most successful concert is sure to result.
