Sir George Turner's only son was run ovJs. uy a train yesterday, and succumßb^>o his injuries. The thnber stackers' strike continues. It is seriously interfering with the movements of timber vessels.
Constables Cummins and Daley were rowing across Broken River, when approaching a weir, the current capsized their boat, and both were drowned. A third man who was in the boat had a narrow escape. .
HOBART, September 7. A series of spacious cayes has .been discovered on the .north-west coast, with stalactite and stalagmite formations of marvellous beauty. . ■
