PALMERSTON N., September 3. At Palmerston, on Thursday, we had a good entry of both sheep and cattle. There was a good all-round competition and sheep and cattle sold well, all lines being quitted under the hammer at an advance on late values. We quote:— Sheep: Half-bred wethers 10s 3d, forward wethers 13s Id, store ewes 6s 9d. Cattle: Weaners 10s to los 6d, yearling heifers 203 to 265, mixed yearlings 28s 6d to 33s 6d, 2-year steers £2 15s to £3, 3-year steers £4 ss, 3j-year steers £5 13s to £5 14s 6d, store cows 23s (yd to 34s 6d, forward cows £2 5s 6d to £3, fat cows £5 3s, forward heifers £3 7s, springing heifers £4 12s 6d, cows Jn calf £3 10s.
