, MARTQN, September 3. ■ Ihe weather was beautifully fine for the concluding day, the attendance was large,. and the course in capital order: lho.totalisator turnover for the two days was £13,672, as against £13,576 A large number of licences were issued to bookmakers, whose fees would represent an average increase of the totalisator. figures of about £5000. The amount put through to-day: shows a slight increase. The horse Frisco was disqualified' for inconsistent running in the Telegraph Handicap, a protest being lodged by the owner of Kareroa, who ran. second. The owner of Frisco, the jockey (A. Olliver), and the horse were disqualified during the pleasure of the club. In the Hack Steeplechase Waitoa fell, fracturing A. McConnon's Collarbone. Results:—
Telegraph Handicap.—Frisco 1, Kareroa 2, Waihuku 3. Also ran: Rangipapa, Splendid Idea,. Toatuhi, Silver
Lead,. Millenial; A great finish. Kare-, roa got about six lengths' start of Frisco, who put in a great run. and won by a length. Time, 1.15. A protest for inconsistent running was upheld, and the stakes were awarded to Kareroa
Hunters' Hurdles.—Taupo 1, Netherby 2, Ballance 3. All .started. Won comfortably by two lengths. Time,
Flying Handicap.—Llanwern 1, Mistnno 2, Sir Artegal 3. All started. Won by a length. Time, 1.18 2-5.' Hack Steeplechase.—'Concussion 1 Mahoe 2, Whipcord 3. All started.' Waitoa fell. Time, 5.1 1-5. Welter.—Sandstream 1, Winda»o 2 Research 3. Ail started. Won by a length. Time, 1.33 2-5.
Crofton Handicap.—Maharanui 1 Gaelic 2, Seaman 3. All started except Apa. A great finish. Won 'by" a neck. Time, 2.1 4-5. Second Hurdles.—Gleam 1, Lyrist 2 D'Nil 3. All started. The winner wai in front most of the way, and won by a length. Time" 2.53. " Final Scurry.— Whetumarama 1 Roosevelt 2, Merry Tiger 3. Scatohed: Lpthair, Sir Artegal, -Mistime, Sir Antrim, and Rifleshot. Won by a length Time, 52sec. °
