(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 2. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. PASSAGE OF BILLS.

On .the motion of the Hon. Sinclair the Westport Harbour Board Loan Bill was read a second time.

The Quackeries Prevention Bill was referred to the Statutes Revision Committee; :

The Local. Elections and Polls Amendment Bill and the Town Boards Act Amendment Bill were put through Committee with slight amendments. The Coroner's Act Amendment Bill was' read a third time and passed. The Christchurch City Sanitation Empowering Bill was considered in Committee, and progress was reported. The Council rose at 4.50 p.m.
