We held our fortnightly sale to-day, offering 40 bales wool, 2,000 skins, 500 hides and a quantity of tallow and horsehair.

Wool.—The maiket was quiet, but pnc&s on a par with those of last sale \V o quote -.—Medium crossbred 4d to o 4 <l, :2d: to 4d, lambs wool 4d to od pieces and locks Id to 2d, good crutohmgs Md to 4d, medium do 3d to _dJd, seedy and inferior l£d to 2#d bknis.-^Market firm at last sale rates. ' Hides.—Better demand. Prices for ox were quite a farthing higher. Cows a halfpenny higher, while calfskins remained the same. We quote:—Ox heavy s|d to 6|d, do. medium s^d to of d, do. light 4d to 44d, cow 4d to Ud cut and slippy hides 2d to 3jd, stag 2id to 3d, bull 2d to 3d, calf best! 4d to od, do. cut and slippy 2d to 3d Wellington, August 28th, 1908.
