MARTON BOWLING CLUB.

There was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the above club, which was held in the Borough. Chambers on Friday night. The President (Mr J. McEldowney )oocupied theohair. , ; The report showed that the past season was most successful financially, thelist of members showing! an increase. The roll had been carefully revised, and now shows 59 members and 26 Honorarymembers good on the books. The net income %-om members and lockersamounted to £130 15s 6d, and after pay ing all liabilities to date there only remains a debit balance due to the bank, of £19, and the committee estimated, that next year's income will be about £160. The Christmas tournament was a great success. The ladies deserve special mention for the excellent spreads provided and for the hearty manner they worked during the tournament. The "Advocate" feathers are still held.by the; invincible quartette; Messrs. Trott, Tennent, Sharpe, and Harry Sut— cliffe (skip). The match for. bowls presented by Messrs Patterson- arid Col was not completed' last season, --and: the; competitors were partly to blame and the committee for not being more stringent. ; About 20 general committee meetings were held during the year,., and several match and Green Committee meetings, and all concerned have worked harmoniously together for the welfare of the Club, and have the satisfaction of knowing the results of their exertions have placed the Marton Bowling Club in a sound financial position. The tournament account shows a creditbalance oi £1 15s.
