R. .McNab, who passed tnrdijgh Duiiedin to-day en route for GoT}i t informed a reporter that Mr ■.■■(Slro-th's ■ resignation has not yet been hrtrKlod in. ;Mr Gilrnth had iiifit informed him that a position in Victoria .had been offered to him., and that his duties would commence at New Year. ITho Minister stated that Mr Gilrnth's 'present position would bo offered to Mr; Reakeg. Mr McNab said that b?f<:rp tho* new dairy regulations were gazetted they woukl go before a. comrmitteo of the Upper Houso and they would bo dealt with in this way as soon as possible. , He hoped to send them before the committe« next week, immediately after tho Houso resumed. Ho had no doubl; that tho new regulations would bo a great improvement on thesa now ia foreo. The Minister will open the new railway istation at Riversdalo to-morrow.
