GISBORNE, August 10. .;. It being alleged . that there wore scores in Gisborne out of work, after diseussipn the following motion was passed: "That the East Coast Trades and Council takes exception to the Labpur Department importing labour to ■this district whilst there are several kwail- unemployed uriabsorbed.'' The secfo^ry was instructed to send copies of the r&<jolution to the Minister of Labour and Secretary for Labour.' A ' -Times'' made inquiries to-day at the Labour Bureau and ascertained that in the last 14 days /there have been 54 names registerecl. Twenty-four have been found employment on Government works, and seven havo been sent to private employers, the remainder being single men with no prosein- necessity for work. Of tho. ■contingent, which arrived by the wimmera on Saturday, only-seven'have so far put in an appearance at the ■tail nay. construction works. .-.-•'
