MANGAWHERO ROAD BOARD.

Hammond^ agreeing to road deviauion and requesting permission to erect private telephone line along the road—Resolved, that Mr. • Hammond's otter re deviation he accepted with thanks< and that he ba granted permission to erect telephone line. On the motion, of the Chairman, it was resolved to instruct Messrs. Dix and Marchant to Lay off and supply plans and estimate for the cost of proposed deviation of road from Waimatu stream to Kaupau stream. A. G. Anderson' repayment for 1 land taken for road.—Resolved, that the Clerk attend to the matter.

From tlio Olei-k of the Wanganui County Council offering the Board the control of the. Upokongaro Ferry. R-esolvetl to isocept same. On the motion of the Qiairman it was resolved to call for tenders for lease of the _ Upokongaro Ferry, and that a special meeting of the Beard be held on Wodnesclay, 15 April, at 11 a.m., to open and consider'same.

It was resolved that the Ferry be re-opened for traffic on Monda.y." 6th April, and that thla Foreman, arrange with the natives to carrty it on. in the meantime. -"' " /

Transfer's of. sections by N. Perry to F. O'Neill, and J. W. Anderson to H. M. Speed were approved.

Accounts, amounting to £110 13s 4d, were passed for payment. '

Bank Pass Book showing credit balane'o .of-£635 10.3 was laid' on the table.

Resolved, that notices be sent to defaulting ratepayers notifying that all rnto'. unpaid after 15th April, 1908, would be sued' for. .-
