• OAMARU, March 17. A conference of representatives of the South Island Chambers of Commerce met here to-day to consider the Government's regulation respecting the size of grain sacks. €hristchurch, Dunedin, InvercargiH", Timaru, aiid oamaru Vere represented. After a -long discussion, in which a variety of sizes wero recommended by vthe delegates, it was eventually decided to recommend that a sack: 465 by 24^^j>e adopted. This; it was believed, would hold -2001bs::of flour as well as .of grain. ;It. was also .decided to ask the Premier to allow the carriage of grain in sacks carried over from the present season, arid to communicate with the Australian Chambers of Cpmmeice asking that a similar size of sack be adopted there.
